Louisville MSD Waterway Protection Tunnel Update – Louisville, KY

BA is providing engineering support and construction oversight for the Louisville MSD Waterway Protection Tunnel. As part of the Consent Decree, Louisville MSD originally decided to go with several giant basins to keep excess runoff from the combined sewer from entering local waterways however after construction and other issues it was decided to do away with basins and construct an approximately four-mile long, 20-foot diameter tunnel to store the excess runoff. The project is about 70 % complete and is expected to be finished in the Spring of 2021.
