The original Locust Street Bridge was built over 100 years ago but had been closed to vehicles and pedestrians since 2015 after it was deemed unsafe. In 2017, the Village of Waterloo received a $4 million state grant to replace the bridge. Bryant is providing survey, mapping, and right-of-way mapping services for phases I-VI for the new Locust Street Bridge that will reach across the Cayuga-Seneca Canal.
The Locust Street Bridge is a six-span arch bridge adjacent to Taintor gates used for flood and water elevation control near Canal Lock #CS-4 of the Cayuga-Seneca Canal. The structurally deficient bridge will be replaced with a new bridge to restore vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
