Competitive Power Ventures (CPV), in partnership with Marubeni and Toyota Tsusho built a 725-megawatt natural gas-fired combined cycle power plant on a 77-acre site in Charles County, Maryland.
The new facility, known as CPV St. Charles, generates enough electricity to power more than 700,000 homes and uses state-of-the-art technology to produce electricity efficiently and cleanly using natural gas. This will help reduce the dependency on older coal-burning power plants, which currently supply a majority of the region’s power. Additionally, the plant’s innovative design will prevent it from being a strain on local water resources by utilizing greywater. Bryant provided construction layout for the entire project.
