To satisfy increasing demand for seats at neighborhood public schools, the City of Boston initiated the conversion of the former North Bennet School Trade School into the Eliot Innovation at North Bennet School, which houses 4th – 8th graders. The renovation included the overhaul and expansion of three connected buildings while working to preserve their historic exteriors. These new spaces required new mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
Bryant designed new water, sewer and storm drainage connections, new electrical, gas and communication system services connections, cement-concrete sidewalk improvements for three locations around the school, grading and drainage improvements to the existing parking lot at Tileston Street and a new fence at the rear property line. The firm was also responsible for the Boston Water & Sewer Commission site plan submittal and performed existing conditions, property line and topographic surveys. Bryant also provided construction administration services.
