Ribbon Cutting at Eliot Upper School
On Saturday, October 19th, Bryant staff attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the grand opening of the brand new Eliot K-8 School at 585 Commercial Street in Boston’s North End. The day included tours of the new building which is situated on the Boston Harbor and was attended by Mayor Marty Walsh, Boston Public Schools Superintendent Brenda Cassellius, students, teachers and members of the architecture/engineering community who played a role getting the school built.
Bryant worked as a subconsultant to Finegold Alexander Architects. The scope of our work included development of preliminary and final site design plans and specifications for new ground water recharge detention chambers; new stormwater quality features directed into a new stormwater outfall into Boston Harbor – complete with a tidal gate flap valve; new and replacement utility and drainage service connections; a new 20-vehicle parking lot; a new gas service connection and a new site lighting system. Bryant also provided final phase construction services for this project as the finishing touches were completed just before the school re-opened this past September.
